Regulations
– GENERAL RULES OF THE SCHOOL –
1. The Academic year is from February / March to November.
2. The School reserves the right to refuse admission to any student without furnishing any reason.
3. Promotion is granted to a student on the basis of his / her performance in various examinations held during the year . The capability of the student to tackle the next class will also be taken into consideration.
4. A student will be removed from school if :
- He / She fails in the same class for two consecutive years.
- Disobedience and Disrespect towards Staff Members.
- A bad habit.
- If the school feels that He / She is of dubious moral character.
- Irregular attendance.
- Distribution or Introduction of harmful , obscene literature.
- For leaving the school without the expressed permission of the Principal.
- Habitual late payments by the parents.
- Damage of school property.
- No boarder or day scholar to frequent shops adjoining the ground or St Helen’s back entrance.
5. During the absence of a Teacher ; it is essential that the student heed to the supervising prefect or monitor.
6. While every care will be taken to prevent accidents , the school will not be liable for injuries sustained by the pupil in the course of everyday activities.
7. Pupils must leave and re-join School on the stipulated date of School holidays . A fine may be levied on late comers or their seat be declared vacant.
8. Parents must visit their children only on dates stipulated in the School Calendar.
9. It is compulsory for parents to take their children home during the Mid-Term , Puja and Winter Holidays.
Uniform Code
10. The dress code of the School is as follows for class days , except on special occasions.
Boys
- School Blazers with monogram approved by the School. COMPULSORY for students of Class I to XII every Mondays and Thursdays.
- Grey worsted trouser of conventional cut with bottom flare of18 inches.
- Prescribed School cardigan.
- Navy Blue socks.
- Black lace up shoes.
- Prescribed School tie.
- P.T.DAYS : CLASS I to VII : Proper PT Uniforms , House vest . White canvas shoes and socks. (Sneakers not allowed)
Girls
- School Blazers with monogram approved by the School . COMPULSORY for students of Class I to XII every Mondays and Thursdays.
- School grey skirts , 2 inches below the knee.(Blazer days only)
- Grey tunics on other days.
- Grey stockings.
- Black lace up shoes.
- Prescribed School tie.
- P.T.DAYS : CLASS I to VII : Proper PT Uniforms , House vest . Divided skirts .White canvas shoes and socks.(Sneakers not allowed.)
- Only yellow hair clips , hair bands or ribbons are not allowed . Those with long hair should be pleated into two.
11. However “genuine” or “legitimate” the reason , any student leaving the School premises without written permission by the School Authority , will be expelled.
12. Boarders are allowed to bring one set of colored clothes which will have to be handed over to the Hostel Superintendents in the Store Room.
13. Heavy Army boots and Heavy thick belts are not allowed.
PARENTS MUST READ THE RULES THOROUGHLY
AND SIGN THE DECLARATION.
– FOR BOARERS –
1.Children MUST be taken home during Summer Holidays and Puja Holidays.
2. Children are NOT allowed to stay in town with their Guardians . Children found staying alone in town will be expelled.
3. A Fine of Rs 50/- a day will be levied on children coming late after a holiday or being late after the specified date of departure.
4. Parents are NOT allowed to frequent shops near the School and Parents are requested NOT to pay credit or leave payments in the same.
5. Children must be taken out ONLY on visiting weekend.
6. Children must leave School in full uniform and must return in the same.
7. Girls above Class VI are NOT allowed to leave school with any other individual apart from their parents . They MAY NOT STAY ALONE WITH A LOCAL GUARDIAN during Holidays.
8. Parents will sign a specified form if they wish their wards to travel alone . No hand written letters will be entertained.
9. All pocket money will be deposited with the Bursar and any child found with over Rs.10 /- on their body or in pocket will be liable to strict disciplinary action or even expulsion.
10. Sandals are strictly NOT allowed . BATA / HAWAII Slippers must be brought to be worn in the dormitory . A mixture of BLUE and WHITE colored Sneakers and WHITE Keds are Compulsory during Games . No other fancy shoes to be brought . Only lace up Naughty boy shoes and Bata Buckle Shoes for girls are allowed in the school.
11. Hipster style trousers and skirts if brought , will be returned and replaced by the School.
12. Fancy belts, rings, trinkets, make-up sets, nail polish, hair dyes will be confiscated if brought to school.
13. Only yellow hair clips , hair bands or ribbons for girls. Those with long hair should be pleated in two.
14. Prescription and Medical Bills to be submitted after a long absence. The Doctor’s certificate alone will not be taken in consideration.
15. NO COLORING OF HAIR WILL BE ALLOWED
PARENTS MUST READ THE RULES THOROUGHLY

– FOR DAY SCHOLARS –
Parents will ensure they sign their ward’s Diary everyday.
2. Parents will ensure their child’s uniform is as per regulations , otherwise the child will be sent home.
3. Day pupils MUST NOT bring anything for boarders . Any day pupil found with any object for a boarder will be liable to be expelled.
4. Day pupil may NOT take anything from Boarders out of School . No Books , clothing , shoes , letter , bag , etc may be taken by day pupils out of the school compound.
5. Day pupils must not stay in the School compound after school hours or on Holidays , UNLESS some event in the notice of the Principal is taking place.
6. Day pupils MUST NOT visit the Dormitories.
7. Parents must come personally to collect their ward’s Terminal Examination Results.
8. Parents will ensure their ward’s hair style / length of hair conforms to school norms , otherwise the School will cut the child’s hair in manner befitting a student of this School.
9. NO COLORING OF HAIR WILL BE ALLOWED.
10. ABSENTEES : A fine of Rs 50 /- will be levied on students on the last and first class day of a long holiday .i.e, Mid-Term Holidays , Pujas and Winter Holidays.
11. Intimation necessary of a student for being absent for more than two days otherwise a fine of Rs 25 /- per day will be charged . Telephone calls will not be entertained.
12. Prescription and Medical Bills to be submitted after a long absence. Doctor’s certificate alone will not be taken into consideration.
13. Day Scholars will have to bring their lunch to school. NO students will be allowed to go home for lunch or have lunch in the SHOPS AROUND THE SCHOOL.
14. NO LUNCH APPLICATIONS WILL BE ALLOWED.
